( http://www.michaelkenna.net/gallery2.php?id=11 ) Michael Kenna Michael Kenna was a monochromatic landscape photographer. He was an artist who knew how to shot photos like this at night and at dawn with ethereal light. Michael is a type of person to go to a landscape area and take what he gets just by looking at it.  I find this picture that Michael Kenna took to be beautiful. The way the shadows and the negative space compliments the sky is what makes it beautiful to me. The way the clouds are positioned in the sky, kind of gives a perspective view. The clouds points more towards the center. Michael Kenna is a photographer who can help with my understanding towards shadows in a photo when capturing it.  ~Charise J

Man Ray ~ Charise J

Man Ray  Man Ray was an artist, sculpture, photography, and film maker. He realized that his way of being diverse in art was going to get him somewhere, plus get his work sold more. Ray worked on different types of art like surrealism, dadaism, and more. Ray tried word of exposing light instead of using the camera. It was mainly the shadow of the object or person that produced the imaged.  I like Man Ray's work because it seems to be eye opening, along with a little creepy. This art piece that I had chosen reminds me of the creepy art works that I looked at. Most of the art works that I like are creepy but something that doesn't look like it could be haunted. This piece looks like a skull but also like an animal. The background shows a faint image of what looks like bones. I just feel as though that this connects to me more because of how I can different things in this one image. It's like playing "Hidden Images," which I find interesting in art.  ~Charise J

(Lee Friedlander,  https://fraenkelgallery.com/artists/lee-friedlander  ) Lee Friedlander Lee was a photographer, who photographed objects, city life, and landscapes. He believes that things in the world is art that  stares back at you. As in, when you want to draw or take a picture of an object or anything’s that looks interesting, it’s already something that starring at you waiting to be noticed. When looking for a photo to take, you don’t have to search for it.  Lee Friedlander gave me of an opportunity to expand my view of seeking out art. I chose that photo because of how the structure of the glass vase was giving the stem a bent look. It reminds me of how we use the film cameras to put it in focus because if it isn’t, it will come out looking bent and not straight like it does in front of the camera lens. The photo also reminds me of how to put the camera into focus because above the water inside the vase looks unfocused but the water part looks more clear which is a sign of bein
