Man Ray 

Man Ray was an artist, sculpture, photography, and film maker. He realized that his way of being diverse in art was going to get him somewhere, plus get his work sold more. Ray worked on different types of art like surrealism, dadaism, and more. Ray tried word of exposing light instead of using the camera. It was mainly the shadow of the object or person that produced the imaged. 

I like Man Ray's work because it seems to be eye opening, along with a little creepy. This art piece that I had chosen reminds me of the creepy art works that I looked at. Most of the art works that I like are creepy but something that doesn't look like it could be haunted. This piece looks like a skull but also like an animal. The background shows a faint image of what looks like bones. I just feel as though that this connects to me more because of how I can different things in this one image. It's like playing "Hidden Images," which I find interesting in art.

(  Wolfgang Tillmans | Artnet  ) Wolfgang Tillmans   Wolfgang Tillmans studied in England at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design. He studied for 2 years in the early 1990s. He was a gay pride photographer and became the coeditor of Spex Magazine. The reflection is much brighter than the actual flower and this makes me want to try to get a photo like this. The flower is seen as a short one in the vase but the reflection is different. The reflection shows that it looks like an actual rose but in yellow. Because of the material of the gold flower, the reflection shows more lines. This makes the rose on the wall look like it is outside in a spring or summer area with the sun shinning brightly. This photo also gives out good vibes because of the color and style that the reflection of the gold rose

Irving Penn ~ Charise J

He studied at Philadelphia Museum School for Industrial Art for two years in the 1930s. Around the 1950s, he opened his own art studio, which had made him grow more popular over time. His work on Still Life was more of it being abstract because of the volumes and lines of the objects. Most of his art work is being shown in museums in the United States and Europe. This photo was chosen because it reminds me of how Still Life could just be anything. But you could make a bigger image out of what was used. For this one, it shows me tea time while playing a game, but for rich folks. His other Still Life's like this also have a meaning behind them.
