Where My Inspiration Comes From ~Charise J (240 ART)

Where My Inspiration Comes From       I  started art when I was young, don't exactly remember the age. I was watching my cousin draw a rose and I was thinking that if he could draw that, why not I give it a try. But it just didn't come out the way I thought it was. Ever since then, I was learning from watching on TV because there was a special show on Comcast, at the time, that thought kids how to draw the basic things which would seem hard but they had made it easy. It was fun and I enjoyed it. As time went on, as in when I got older, the show wasn't available anymore and I resulted to drawing what I saw around the house without tracing.   Susan Sontag’s book: On Photography        In Susan Sontag's book, "On Photography", she wrote a chapter on Plato's cave, which was the time when 3 people who were chained in a cave with no light but the light from outside which had given them a view of what is going on outside. Many people have different sides to things like photos of someone naked; that depends on how people interpret it. If it is a child it would be ...

(  Robert Frank | San Francisco (1956) | Artsy  )   Robert Frank   Robert Frank was born in 1924, in Switzerland. He studied photography in 1941. He worked on commercial photography and studio design. Frank later worked on his photography book called The Americans  which changed photography in a way. He caught the actual perspective of what America is like instead of everyone assuming the US was living the “American dream”. He wanted people to understand how he felt and how the people may have felt when he took those photos that was in the book. This photo was chosen because he actually liked talking about this photo out of all his photos because of their reaction. When he took this photo he said that he tried to make it seem like he was taking a photo of the horizon but actually of them. The reaction from the man was frightening to him because he looked back at him mad and was questioning him (by the look on his facial expression). Frank just moved his camera a...
