Abelardo Morell ~Charise J (Digital Photographer 340)
Abelardo Morell
Abelardo Morell was born in 1948 in Cuba. He traveled to the United States with his parents in 1962. He first went to Bowdoin College to get his undergrad and then went to the Yale University School of Art to get his MFA. He later became a professor of photography from 1983 to 2010 at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. As Morell's life went on, he received rewards from different museums in the United States.
As I looked at his photography, I noticed that his "Photograms" were my favorite. The way his still life's were done was kind of something that I have done with mine but the only difference was that mine was done with a digital camera and not a film camera. I can also compare that the still life is completely dark while in mine it's the background that is completely dark.
I once wanted to do a project on reflections because they looked cool when taken in a photo for memory purposes. The way it looks depending on the time of day was the best part. The object from which the reflection was coming was also the best part. I wanted to experiment with reflection but I went with the safest option for me. The photos might've come out as the same and there aren't many objects that reflect what I have with me that could be taken a photo of.
